art, backaches, and more food

Thursday we went to the Dallas Museum of Art. I was having a difficult time because my side and back were really hurting *explanation at the end. That's why I'm walking like that:

Don't you love this! I wish I could have it in my imaginary living room. I think the colors are great.

The pic below is the interactive part of the museum. Each of the squares was made of something different and had different textures. People were supposed to feel them and then you could write a 'post it' about it and stick it on the wall next to it. They also had an area where you could create and display your own art.

This was not the interactive part of the museum, but as you may have noticed we made pretty much the whole museum interactive.

We watched the jazz band from the balcony.

And here I am looking like a chubette. Thanks B. I had to take lots of breaks because of my backache, which was really too bad because I really loved the museum and wished I could have stayed longer.

After resting for awhile, we went out to the harbor for yummy food and more live music!

Of course we had to stop at Culver's for the best custard ever! I know its known for its butter burgers, but the bananas foster custard is to die for. (haven't ever actually had the burgers) I know what you're thinking, cheesecake here custard there. Don't worry, there is plenty more where all of that came from. Good thing I'm pregnant.

*The back ache turned out to be my kidney. Little miss doesn't have much room in there and is squishing various things and making my right kidney swollen. There is no infection or any problems. Unfortunately there is also no way to fix it. But at least now that I know what it is I don't have to worry! This day was probably the worst it ever was. The pain is not that bad and comes and goes.

God bless America, and Texas

I always always love to go home. After dropping our bags off at the house, my parents took us to the Arboretum- it has miles and miles of flowers and beautiful landscaped gardens.

We loved getting out with my parents and enjoying a lovely stroll in the park!

That night, we went to eat at Saltgrass, my favorite steak house!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a chocolate girl. I will always order chocolate whatever for dessert. Except at Saltgrass I always get this cheesecake! It is the best (in my opinion) and I actually don't even like cheesecake. This is light and creamy and the best part is the delicious strawberry sauce with white chocolate drizzled on top!
I love food.

This was a great way to kick off our trip!

Saturday morning thoughts of a soon(ish) to be mother

I am doing terrible on blogging. I don't know where all the time in one day goes, oh wait, yeah I do. I work for 12 hours of it and then come home and spend the rest of the night getting the nursery cleaned out and set up!

We had a terribly fun time with family in Texas and were spoiled for 1 whole week! Now I'm making up for it at work. I will be trying to get pics up from our trip in any spare time I can find.

In other news we got a crib and lots of goodies to fill the room from a baby shower I had with my home ward! I am so grateful for such kind friends and wonderful family! Things are coming along, and all of the sudden I feel like time is slipping away too fast.

I am huge. Okay not huge, but I grew so much in the last two weeks, and I was so busy that I didn't really notice until I looked back at pics and saw my stomach poking out of EVERYTHING! I can no longer cover this baby up. She is ready to be seen :)

Speaking of her, she is going to be a mover and a shaker. Not a day goes by that I don't feel her kicking and moving like crazy! I love it. And the best part is that she kicked her dad a few times :) He was so excited. I wish he could feel it everytime like I do.

As for the name, we both love the name Olivia (and call her Liv) but for some reason I really have trouble with the finality of things (what is wrong with me), so I can't say that that is for sure what her name will be. I just can't name this little sweetheart until I meet her in person. (but she will probably be Olivia Marie since that is what we are already calling her :)

Last night, while at the sunflower market shopping for broccoli, I saw a little girl run by with glasses and all the sudden I got nervous thinking about glasses and braces and imodesty and insecurity. Please please be a good girl Olivia. Or better yet, let me be a good mom!

there's no place like home

We are in visiting my family in Texas and we're having a ball! I've gotten to do all my favorite "Texas things" and visit with my big sister and her family! Tomorrow we'll go to Austin to visit my brother and his family!

I can't believe its been almost 2 years since we've been here. Feels like we never left.

Sunday Mother's Day

Mother's Day was wonderful! It started with my husband suprising me with a gift: a sewing machine! Now I can actually get started on my projects for the nursery.

Then we went to Music and the Spoken word in the tabernacle. It was so beautiful and the perfect way to begin a special day.

My little girl was moving around during "in my mother's eyes". I think it was her present to me :) And it really made me think about being a mother and all that it entails. I got a little overwhelmed for a second, but then realized that I have sooo many amazing examples of motherhood in my life, and I all the sudden felt so privileged to be able to hold the title of 'mother' soon!

We had brunch with family at the Grand America hotel. It was beautiful and delicious! So fun to be with family!

That night we had a family FHE at the barn. After a little talent show and mother's day thought, each person gave a flower to my grandma and a chocolate kiss to my grandpa and told them how much we love them.

The links, we are all connected!

Saturday

We decided to try the new burger joint over by the mall, and I LOVED it! Go check it out if you get a chance. Way better than In-n-out, EZ take out, or even Burger supreme.

Then we made our way over to BYU so Dad could pick up a new hat.
We brought our stroller for Addie. It was fun to push it around until people peeked in and saw it was empty. Then they probably noticed that bump (that is not so little anymore) and wondered why in the world a pregnant lady was pushing her empty stroller.

and then we got Addie in it, and she made it look good!

Chatting in front of the Wilk

We stopped by the MOA to see the new art exhibits...
It was a fun day with my Daddy!

Friday tea

My sisters and I went to a little "miss and me" tea at Macey's. It was just fun to be together :)

While we were at the tea, Dad and Brady babysat the kiddies! This picture perfectly shows how fun my dad is with his grandkids. It made me laugh to see it, and I know the kids just love when he plays with them. I can't wait for my little girl to get to have him as a grampy!

J + W

Thursday evening was the J+W wedding in the Draper Temple and the reception at the Tahitian Noni Gardens.

Dad and daughter dance

Although Brady wasn't able to join me that night, it was a beautiful night and the gardens were in full bloom! It was fun to reminisce to myself about our open house there over 1 1/2 years ago!
