Bonfire

::Thursday 7.29.10::

We headed up the Provo Canyon for a bonfire with friends.

Jess, Me, Britt, and Megs....this was a self-timer pic and apparently we thought we needed to bend down.

The whole group

A skunk came midway through and tried to ruin the party

The girls and my s'more (this pic = stolen from Megs' blog)

The lights went out and scared everyone to death,
but after that the stars were unreal.
Good times.
Thanks to Gma Hansen for staying with Olivia while we ventured out.

Out with the gals

::Friday 7.30.10::

I enjoyed a girls day out on Friday with Debi (Gma Hansen) and Danee!

After enjoying a delectable salad/sandwich combo from Zupas (and cheesecake for national cheescake day), we headed to the mall.

Gma took Liv so that I could have a pedi! It was seriously so relaxing to sit in that chair with no worries. I closed my eyes and almost fell asleep while enjoying the chair massage and pampering of my feet.

The finished product. I've never chosen neon pink before and I've never gotten flowers before either, but I think its fun for summer. Thanks Debi, it was just what the doctor ordered!

Tooth

As I mentioned, baby O got her first tooth! On the morning of the 24th, I was letting her try to drink some water from my glass cup, and she starting biting it. I heard a little 'tink tink'. I was so surprised to feel a sharp little tooth when I stuck my finger in her mouth.

Since then, that one little guy (left mandibular central incisor for my dental hygiene friends) has been giving her some grief.

Luckily, its nothing a popsicle can't fix!

Farm Country

::Tuesday 7.27.10::

Miss Grandma Hansen is in town visiting and we've been having some fun! Tuesday (while I was having a stress filled day at school thinking of all the projects, papers, and presentations that are due next week) B and Liv headed over to Farm country with his mom to meet Steph and cousin Avery.

There was a little chick running back and forth that she just couldn't get enough of.

Together, B and Liv weighed as much as a goat and a kid.

Cousins!

24th of July :: Taste of the Valley

I'll let the photos do most of the talking...but I will say YUM!

We liked P712, Communal, and PF Changs the best. Have you ever tried the spiced ribs from PF Changs? Oh my, they were delish. Never would have thought to order ribs from there.

Fish tacos from Rubios.

We were stuffed! But, don't worry, we had just enough room for krispy kreme and spoon me.
And then, when all was said and done, we looked down and saw this:

Little tooth

Little miss Livy's first tooth finally made its debut on the 24th. Happy Pioneer Day to us! That day we also went to the taste of the valley and had little samples of delicious food from LOTS of various delicious places. We now call Liv little tooth.

I'm a little bugged because I can't find the camera and I wanted to put some pics up, but I guess I'll have to do it later and tell you the story of how I came across this mischievous little tooth in the first place.

Until then...

Rise and Shout

I heart BYU.

I am proud that I graduated from such a wonderful university and I cherish the time I spent there. It's where I met my husband, some of my very dearest friends, and where I really learned who I am. Seeing as how we live in Orem (or Super-north Provo) I haven't made it too far away and I'm okay with that for now. I enjoy being able to go to a football game, guitars unplugged, true blue football, or any other various activity put on by my beloved Cougs. I saw on the news a few days ago that BYU broke the world record for largest water balloon fight and i'm a little sad/jealous that I didn't get to participate in this wonderful event. I guess I am kind of an adult....married with child, but had the opportunity presented itself I would have been there in a heartbeat. Maybe that's why I still enjoy living near my alma mater, it makes me feel like a carefree college student again.

Clips from Kyle Andrews' next music video. Shot at BYU. The video broke the world record for the biggest water balloon fight. It had 4,000 participants and over 120,000 balloons

Okay and I kind of have to put this on here even though its all over the place, because I think its pretty comical. This is for those of you not still in Cougar town and who haven't already seen this video a million times.

If you're confused, its based loosely on this old spice comercial.

Come get away from the world

{On Monday 7.19.10}

The three of us sat outside in the shade and enjoyed the peace of being near the temple.

We picked up some limeade and fish and chips from Ripple's (after paying a quick visit to G'ma and G'pa Dunford's old house), laid out a blanket, and had our own FHE. I bet you can guess which song we sang.

I love the temple. I love how clean and pure it is. I love how peaceful I feel even just being near such a sacred house of God.

I receive so much comfort in knowing that our family will be together forever.
They bring me so much joy.

boys will be girls

I just saw this on my friend Brook's blog, and it is Hi-larious. Just watch.

Like Brook said, unfortunately its a little too true.
  • How does she feel about it and what is she thinking about how she feels?
  • What did you have for breakfast? I had the Jamie Lee Curtis yogurt. I actually digested a huge gust of wind on my way to work
  • FAT
  • Wait what's a pink berry..... please just tell me.
  • Oh, its totes the best hun cal fro-yo
  • OMG, I'm maad. Mad that I don't know about that.
  • Do you guys want to split an ice cube or something?
Is this really the Harvard sailing team? I don't know, but I do know that they should probably do more acting and less sailing.

Bridal Veil

We took a quick trip to Bridal Veil Falls today. Our outdoor baby had a wonderful time. So did we. Beautiful HOT weather.
The man soaking his feet a few people away from us told us that we had a beautiful baby. I agreed and made a mental note to give strangers compliments more often.

I was kicking myself for not listening to the voice in my head that said 'put her in her swimsuit'.
She was trying to get in the water and trying to sit down in that little puddle (that weirdly looks like just rocks. it actually had water in it fyi).
We will definitely be back very soon in suits.

10 months

  • tries to drink out of a cup (tries is the key word there)
  • shakes her head when she's feeling good
  • bounces to music
  • takes steps
  • likes to be messy and hates getting her face wiped after eating
  • also hates getting her diaper changed and will flip over and crawl away faster than you can blink
  • very attached to mommy and daddy, but warms up to people pretty quickly
  • gets compliments on her big blue eyes everywhere she goes, and i love it
  • loves to play patty cake (well really just the 'baby and me' part of the game). she laughs and then grabs my hands to do it again
  • pats her head, my leg, or her mouth. its just so cute to see that chubby hand patting everything
  • can get out of her bumbo all by herself
  • likes to pull mommy's hair :(
  • loves to stick her finger up anyone's nose.....or in their mouth....or sometimes both

FEED ME!

If you hadn't noticed from previous posts, Liv basically wants to eat WHATEVER we are eating. She doesn't seem to care that she has no teeth.

Brady really had no idea that she was leaning over trying to eat his hot dog

Food coma

I was worried to start letting her 'chew' real food since she doesn't have teeth, but if you can't tell from the pic below, she just spits stuff out if she can't get it small enough.

Of course I always keep a close eye on her when she's eating 'real' food, but I think she mostly likes the feel of biting on her gums.
