I'm boring...but they aren't

Right now I'm pretty boring. I'm not doing the 30 day clothes challenge like so many others, because 20 days of the 30 I wear ugly blue scrubs (as proven by every picture of me on this blog). Thanks UCDH. I don't get to do any crafts right now and I'm not allowed to watch tv or go on dates (for real, that's what our teacher told us) until the end of April. My blog needs a serious facelift and I haven't set foot in the mall in months. And to top it off I am mentally and physically drained and just so ready to be done with school so I can get on with my life already!

Since I'm so boring/depressing/you name it I will lead you to 2 of my beautiful, talented, and creative friends.

Leanne used to be in my ward but has since moved away. I hadn't been to her blog Elle Apparel in awhile, but she is doing some really great stuff over there. There is actually a giveaway going on (today is the last day). If any of you are like me, you fell in love with Anthropologie's ruffle shower curtain. Don't worry, Leanne has a tutorial for how to make your own on her blog. I am seriously impressed. See her Etsy shop here.

And now head over to Mama Mia, where my friend Adri is blowing me away with her talent and creativity. I can't really say enough good things about Adri. Not only is she so talented, but she is also THE nicest person. She watches Liv for us sometimes on Mondays even though she is so busy with orders and 2 boys of her own, and she even made a bracelet and hairclip for Liv! Is this not the cutest hoodie you've ever seen? My brain doesn't even understand how someone can sew something like that!? Etsy shop here

One day (about 6 weeks from now) I will be actively taking advantage of all the great tutorials from these creative girls, and I will no longer be living under a rock.

Hoops

No, not basketball hoops (although I did just watch a very interesting documentary called "More Than a Game" which may or may not be the reason I'm thinking about hoops) Hoops that you have to jump through to get from point A all the way to point Z.

I get asked a lot if I'm so excited for graduation, and if I just can't believe its so close, and if I can't wait. The answer to everything is YES, but before I can really even fathom the fact that its really going to happen I have a few BIG hoops to jump through:

-Anesthesia mock boards (Yeah, I did already pass REAL anesthesia boards. Still had to jump through this hoop though): CHECK! (got this over with today)
-2 mid-terms {tomorrow} so why am I blogging? I don't know either.
-1 more the following week
-Table Clinic
-Mock WREB (clinical) Boards
-National written Boards {an 8 hour written test}
-Another Mock written boards
-Finals week
-Process of Care Exam {a brand new exam in addition to WREB clinical Boards that must be passed as well}
-WREB (clinical) Boards

And then it will be time to celebrate. Well, that is, if I pass every single one of those exams and don't die somewhere on the way.

the best

I haven't done a "Husband" post in quite awhile, but lately I've felt the need to.
B still has my heart.

He has driven to my school to be "the warm body" in my chair so many times, I don't even want to say
because its embarrassing. I've done screenings, sealants, intra-oral photography, and 2 cleanings. He was
my patient for efficiency clinic this week, and I didn't even have to ask him because he actually
reminded me that he was due for (and wanted) another cleaning. It was really fun to spend some time
with him as he was having a particularly rough morning. We extended the "date" to lunch and grabbed
some food at Noodles & Co. and he bought me a giant rice crispy treat which was surprisingly
delicious.

It was just so much fun! I don't know why. Maybe just because we haven't had a lunch date without
Olivia for.....well, since Olivia was born. Also because we got to talk about some serious stuff and it
 was just good to connect on that level again. {thanks to my sis for babysitting :)}

He has been so nice to me lately for no reason. Giving me compliments and doing things for me without
being asked. I was trying to figure out why he was being so nice, but have come to the realization it is
just because that is who he is. I wish I could be more like him.

Tiny dancer

Olivia is now 17 months and we have been extremely spoiled to have so much special time with our sweet girl. This is a home video for us, so I don't expect anyone to watch the whole 4 1/2 minutes, but here it is if you are interested to see what life is like with a toddler.

She is such a good helper and not only loves to take the milk out and put it back in the fridge, but also loves to sweep the floor with the broom, and vacuum.

She gives kisses freely to Mama, Dada, milk (2:45 in the video), and doggies. Lately, she's been giving them to random strangers as well, like the optometrist and little boys at the store. Daddy has his work cut out for him.

She a busy busy bee and loves attention.

She no longer takes 2 naps. Sad day for me.

She is starting to test her boundaries. She'll always stand up in her highchair (see the last pic of this post) and wait for us to say "sit on bum bum", and then sit and immediately stand up again.

She usually laughs when she falls (1:13 in the video)

If she's not laughing, then she needs a kiss after a fall (4:27)

When we went to the doc last month he said she should have about 5-10 words and we were happy to report that she has 4x's that amount. Here are some of her latest words:
up, down, on, off, open, help, Jesus, shoe, hat, more, please, teeth, keys, outside, oh, wow, woah, mama, dada, hi, baby, ruff ruff, neigh, eyes, bum bum, no, nose, yes, yeah, ba bye, done, hot, go, yay, backpack, bub bub (meaning bubble), again (sounds like ah-na), rub rub (for lotion), butt (as in belly button), wa wa (water), ba (ball), poo poo (which is prob so gross to a lot of people but this is my favorite thing she says because it soooo funny and adorable the way she says it.)

She'll say, "pa poo", and I say, "Do you have poo poo?", and she nods her head and says "yeah pa poo, yeah pa poo."

The other day we were getting ready to go somewhere and she was frantically running around to get her shoes on (because she knows we can't go outside until they're on) and then she saw that Brady didn't have his shoes on and she said, "Dada shoe ba-bye". Its cute to see her trying to put sentences together, and to hear her babble alllll day long. I love it, and her.

a whole lotta random

Brady finally dumped his iphone pics onto the computer:

And a few more from the real camera:

Apparently we like to take pictures of her right side.

dear brady,

not that you needed a reminder...
but i didn't want to take any chances ;)

Happy Valentine's Day <3

Be mine, Valentine

I spent Vday at school and Brady spent it at work. Brady's niece is such a sweetheart and babysits Liv for the 2 hours of overlap between my school and Brady's work, which means that we actually don't see each other on Mondays and Wednesdays until he comes home from work around 10:30.

Brady completely surprised me and sent me an edible bouquet at school! Hey, I don't care what anyone says, the way to a man's AND woman's heart is through food. I shared it with my classmates and we were all very appreciative of this gesture :)
Sidenote: This is my friend Megs. If you want to read a funny story go here.
I was crying with laughter about it, because she seriously had no idea.
Thanks Z for taking this picture! I just couldn't post the one with me in it because I looked so disgusting.
Since we knew we wouldn't really be together on Vday, we celebrated on Sunday by making home made individual heart shaped pizzas. It was really fun and I think it will become a tradition. Apparently heart shaped pizza was all the rage this year as everyone I know seemed to have it too. I don't even care, it's my tradition now too!

Look out boys...

Livy kissing Colson
Penelope's Blessing {2.5.11}

Just stopping in quickly because I love this little picture of my kissy girl.
And if you were wondering, YES- we are already worried for her teenage years.

I had a wonderful b-day, especially because my parents were in town! I do have some videos and pics I hope to post sometime soon (tomorrow?).  Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday evening. I'll just be sitting here waiting for me husby to come home to me.

my b-day

I remember when I started DH school thinking, "I won't be done until I'm 26!?" and that seemed like so far away and so old. But here I am....so I must be done with DH school, right. Well mentally I am, but physically not so much. Only 2 more months!

My parents were in town for my 2 nieces' baby blessings (Penelope and Eleanor) which made for a really nice birthday! Brady woke up with Olivia and made me b-fast in bed. Then me and Livy headed to baby Penel's blessing, while Brady went to work. When I got home, I walked in to a nice little pile of presents and flowers!

Brady took off work early, and took care of Olivia so I could do some crafts, which I thought was pretty thoughtful of him. I made this wreath and a doily heart banner.

That night my parents took everyone out to eat for my b-day! We went to La Jolla Groves at the riverwoods, and I have to say I enjoyed it even more this time. I had been with some girlfriends once before, several months ago, to celebrate Anne's engagement. It was really good then, but this time I was ordering off the dinner menu and oh my, I LOVED it! I got the chicken crepes (the sauce is divine) and Brady got the salmon which was also divine.

My special b-day treat!

Happy Birthday T!!!

To the Cutest Wife, the sweetest Mom, and the best friend anyone could ever hope for!

You are a great example and inspiration for hard work and compassion and I hope this year brings you joy, accomplishment and even more happy times with your family who loves you more than you'll ever know!

Happy Birthday Tare Bear...we love you!!!

Valentine's

Can we please pass out Valentine's at school this year?
Since I am indeed going to be sitting in a classroom for about 8 hours on Valentine's Day.
Some sweet somethings might make my bum a little less sore and my heart a little more happy.

You know how it is when you don't want to study anymore, so you start reading everyone's blogs, and your mouse just won't stop clicking a million links...well, maybe you don't, but since I was clickity clicking away I found about a million Valentine's crafts I want to do. Most likely I won't end up having time to do all the crafts I want to do (i have GOT to get serious about my studying- national boards exam in less than 2 months people!) but I have to show you these printable Valentine's! How sweet and simple. Love.
