I just finished reading Goose Girl by Shannon Hale! I only had 4 chapters left, and I usually read at least one chapter before I go to bed, but I was so tired after staying up to watch the Olympics (Michael Phelps is my new hero!!! and girls gymnastics is so fun to watch.... and even though I'm still questioning the true ages of the Chinese gymnasts, they were amazing...). I told myself to read at least one, since I was getting so close to the end... and I feel like I've been reading this forever and I needed to finish! Of course after reading that one chapter, things were getting intense, so I decided to go ahead and read one more, and by the end of that one it was pretty serious and I HAD to keep reading! I ended up reading to the end, and I was actually surprised at how much I liked it! Don't get me wrong, I had liked it the whole time, but I felt like the story was dragging on at first, and I wasn't reading as fast as I like to, so it literally was dragging on. There at the end, I was pleasantly surprised to the point that I feel like there really needs to be a movie made after this book! I guess I feel that way about almost every book though :)
This is a fun and easy read, with a little fantasy and a little love and tons of action (especially at the end). But even the fantasy part was written in a way that made it almost believable, or maybe I'm just a dreamer! Either way this is a really interesting book... apparently the retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Goose Girl".
"A tale about learning to rescue yourself, rather than falling accidentally into happily ever after"

I am always looking for a new book to begin. Just finished the book "Tuesdays with Morrie". This might be my new reading adventure. Thanks, for your opinion!
I liked it too! I remember the first few chapters not being my favorite, but once I got past a certain point (I don't remember what point that was), I couldn't put the book down. Have you read Princess Academy yet? I'm interested to hear which book you like better.
I need to read this book. I have decided I can only read books that are reccommended because otherwise I go to costco and pick up the one with the prettiest cover and then I'm completely disappointed. so thanks for the reccomendation!
Maybe I'll read this after I'm done with the Twilight series. Okay so I looked down at the bottom at those pics and you 2 are the cutest couple ever! And I REALLY need to figure out how to work those features on the camera better!!!
I agree about the movie - I loved this story!
Great pictures of you guys!
Happy 1st Anniversary!
Love,
mom
yea!
i thought it should be a movie, too! i'm glad you liked it! tell us what you think of princess academy when you're done.
cute pics of your first year and congrats on your anniversary. isn't it crazy how fast it goes??
I read Princess Academy first, and I really liked it a lot also.
I feel like they are both different as far a the "lesson" of the story, so I think I liked Goose Girl better, i guess just because, for me the "lesson" was more applicable.
I think Shannon Hale is a great writer since both books were written very "smartly". That might not make sense, but I don't know how to really explain. I just know I ended up liking both books a lot more than I thought I would, since I thought they'd be little girl fairy tales, and they ended up being so much deeper and really made me think!
I haven't read that yet, but it's ready to go (waiting in the closet) after I finish the one I'm reading now. I'm glad to hear everybody liked it, now I'm more excited to read it!!
