9 month check up

Poor babe had to get 2 shots and a toe prick for an iron check on Saturday.

The whole ordeal just completely wore her out...

...the shots and the fact that it was exactly her nap time when we went.
{sidenote: She is on such a great schedule right now. Two naps a day, 2 hours each! And she goes down pretty well at her nap time. Finally I have a baby who has real naptimes! Trust me, its exciting}

It was kind of annoying when the nurses and the doctor made sure to mention several times that most babies don't cry when they get they're toe pricked.
Really?
Because I almost cry when I get my finger pricked for the iron test and I'm 25, yet I get shots in mouth every week {including 4 palatal injections} and I don't cry for those. I think its okay if my baby wants to cry when you're jabbing her with needles. She's a baby, they cry sometimes.
Seems like this would be common knowledge for pediatric doctors.

p.s. It wasn't even that loud or that long. She's calms down really easily when we pick her up.

sweet little livy looks so cute in her after shots pictures. that's weird that the dr and nurses said it's not normal for babies to cry when getting poked!

Sweet baby! I'm with you - I say it's good to cry and let it out and get hugged and soothed by mommy and it feels good again! Those aren't the fun visits! I would always get tears when my babies got shots and cried.

That's weird that most babies don't cry. Mine must not be "most babies" 'cause they all cried for every shot (and so did I!!). That's good that she calms down pretty quick. It's amazing what a little snuggle from mom can do :)

I just got caught up on your blog! You guys have been busy! Love all the posts! Strawberry days looks so fun! I love stuff like that.

I hate shots! She looks like she was a very very brave little girl!

Pay no mind to that doctor and nurse. That's just RUDE in my opinion! Stinky doctors! And you're a brave girl to get all those mouth shots, I'd for sure cry for that.
