Florida trip part 1

I got home from my bday dinner around 10pm and then had to hurry and pack! I threw some stuff in a bag (can I just say it is a million trillion times easier to pack when you don't have kids coming with you), took a quick shower, and went to bed. We were up bright and early  before the sun at the ungodly hour of 4am. Our flight left at 6am, which actually was a great thing because we arrived in Ft Lauderdale with lots of time to play! We slept during the entire plane ride and then were ready to go when we arrived!

We ended up checking in at the hotel first, then going out to eat, then going shopping (how can you NOT go shopping when you don't have kids with you?!), and THEN going to the beach for the rest of the afternoon!

We were blown away with how beautiful it was. I have only been to Florida once in my life when my fam went to Disney World, and we didn't go to a beach then.

It was so clean, fairly empty, the sand was amazing, and the water was so clear! I don't know why, but I just wasn't expecting it to be this beautiful/perfect. It was SO relaxing and fun. I'm kind of running out of words to describe this, but it was amazing to have been busy with work and life schedules the day before and then all the sudden be totally relaxed on the beach the next day. I could totally get used to this.

After we had our fill of lounging, we got in the water. The fact that the water warm enough for us to get in at this time of the year is awesome. We got out, laid out til we were dry, then went and drove around to see some different neighborhoods that we might live in if we were to choose to come here for medical school. We also got to enjoy going out for a bday dinner date!

We are so grateful to my parents for taking care of the girls so we could take advantage of this fun opportunity. It was much needed and much appreciated.

Um....gorgeous!!! Your pictures really make me want to go there. My mom grew up for some years in Florida and always talked about the white, sandy beaches. I don't know if I really believed they were that much better than CA beaches. But it sure looks like they are!
Also, I forgot to say in the last post that the picture of you in the restaurant all dark and shadowy totally reminded me of Olivia. You guys have a lot more resemblances than I realized!

Is the school there Nova that he is looking into? If so we have some really good friends that are there for Med school too and she would be a great person to get tips from if you do decide to live and go there. They live in Plantation. Keep me posted and I can put you in touch:). I'm excited for you and excited you got to go have a little get away!

Yes Leandra!!! It's Nova and I would LOVE if you could put me in touch with her! We've been looking at Plantation, Cooper City, and Davie areas but you can't really know all the things you want without living there. That doesn't make sense but I would appreciate having the chance to talk to someone before moving our family there! Thanks for letting us know!
