Happy Birthday Brady!

B,
Another year down and now we have a beautiful baby girl to show for it! The obvious highlight of this year was when we had Olivia and getting to see you step right up and be such a wonderful father from day one. You were never scared and always offered to help with everything. My very favorite memory was when I looked over and you were dancing with Olivia, not just rocking or bouncing, but doing the waltz, and it completely calmed her down. Thank you for all the encouragement and support you give me. I hope one day I'll be able to do as much for you as you do for me. I love you more than ever!
love,
Taryn

Daddy,

You are so funny and so much fun to be with. Thank you for playing with me all day. And for feeding me, burping me, and helping me learn to sleep so good. I love it when you read to me and show me those awesome black and white pictures and when you dance with me to soothe me. I even like tummy time because I love just staring at your face and learning what you look like. My favorite thing of all is when we get to fall asleep together. I love you!
love,
Olivia

the leaves are changing

Last week we needed to get out of the house,
so we drove up to squaw peak to see the changing leaves.
It was so refreshing and beautiful.

p.s. The doctor told us not to take her to church for 2 months because of how bad flu season is supposed to be this year. I really don't want my baby to get sick, so I'll listen to the doc. but I just thought it seemed a little extreme. He said we could go on walks and go to the store, because people wouldn't be touching and coming up to look at her, but he says church and big family functions should be avoided. Does that seem a little extreme?

Just the two of us

Friday night we got to go on a date, just the two of us.
We went up to Sundance, and got caramel apple cider for me
and hot chocolate with hazelnut for him.
We rode the ski lift, and it was cold so we had to cuddle,
and maybe I got a little scared every time I looked down,
and maybe we kissed in the full moonlight.

We still don't have the night setting on our camera figured out, but I like the pics anyway.

Thank you mom for babysitting!

Take the MCAT: check

Bigger news than me starting school is that Brady took the MCAT on Tuesday! Check it off the list.

I am very proud of his hard work and diligent studying. Now we just have to wait 35 days to find out the score. Don't worry, I think we'll stay pretty busy in the next 35 days :)

Dear Brady,

Happy 2 year anniversary to us!

This morning we went for breakfast at Magleby's Fresh. The weather was perfect so we sat outside and shared our favorite memories from our 2nd year.

We decided that it is now our favorite year together so far.
We didn't go on nearly as many trips or have any crazy extravagant celebrations, but instead this was the year we made some things happen and got some things done for the future of our family.

And I can't wait to start that family with you. I love you!

p.s. can you believe we are starting our 3rd year of marriage?

A much needed night out

This summer we are pretty busy with MCAT prep and work. Lucky for us, last Christmas Tare and I got a gift card to the Melting Pot. Brad and Carrie got one too, and we finally found a night to cash in our little culinary coupons together...even if it took 6 months, 27 days to get our act together.

We tossed the keys to the Valet and strolled on in to welcome aroma of bubbling cheeses, chocolates and marinades. I could tell you about the rest of the night, but I'll let the pictures do the talking...it was a great night.

(PS thanks Mom and Dad Asay, great gift!)

A hard night- don't read if you get queasy easy

I haven't been very sick during this whole pregnancy or thrown up even once... until last night. I am hoping it was a one time thing and not that I am the random person who gets morning sickness at the end of pregnancy instead of the beginning. I know I didn't drink enough water (or eat enough) yesterday. Then I ate pickles and that was a big mistake. Vinegar and salt in your stomach with nothing else is apparently a recipe for disaster.

The only good part of the 3 separate episodes of throwing up (too much info- sorry) was that I was reminded that I have the kindest and most caring husband. He took such good care of me and was right there by side, rubbing my back and holding my head up. So gross I know, but he wasn't bugged by it (or at least he acted like he wasn't).

I am so excited to have him as the father of our children. At Howard and Danee's wedding, Howard's niece (Addie I think) started crying when her parents had to go take pics with the couple. Brady picked her up and she just stuck her thumb in her mouth, cuddled up, and fell asleep. I am the luckiest.

Today

After 5 posts all at once, I am almost caught up! And now I can actually post something that is current.

Today we drove up the canyon, had a nice talk, and husby picked some wildflowers for me.

Is that not the most beautiful rose that you've ever seen?
