Mavs don't give up that easy

We enjoyed NBA playoff game 2 last night between the Mavs and the Heat. Enjoyed is an understatement. See for yourself:

This is the result of Brady jumping off the couch at one point and accidentally landing on a fry sauce packet that Liv had been playing with. Yes, there was orange fry sauce ALL over the wall and carpet. It actually took several minutes for us to notice it, because I was cheering quite heartily as well. When things settled down, I decided to question what the popping noise was that I had heard when he was doing his happy dance. Then we saw it and had a pretty good laugh.

This amount of cheering was going on BEFORE the Mavs' seven minutes of glory where they decided to go on an all out rampage and close the Heat's 15 point lead. Mavs don't give up that easy. Dirk is ridic.

Its pretty funny to think of the last time the Mavs were in the finals. I was living in Moutainwood, Brady and I were just barely dating, and my poor roommates had to endure my old poster of Dirk that had previously been hanging on the back of my dorm room door. Mavs lost that one to none other than the Heat, and Brady saw me get mad for the first time. It just felt so unfair! They had a 2 game lead and then the Heat came back to win 4 in a row. I wasn't only mad that they had lost, I was mad that Brady wasn't cheering as hard as I was, and that he wasn't as into it as me. Mad or embarrassed...can't remember ;)

Since then I've matured a bit. I've gotten married, had a child, and now I can let losses/injustices (whether in a basketball game or life) roll off my back a whole lot easier. Brady's matured in a different way...He now pops fry sauce packets on the wall just to prove he's in it with me. Or better yet, its not just for me anymore...he really is in it!

If you're not watching because your team isn't in the finals, you're missing out. These games have been crazy! Besides who doesn't like cheering for the underdog or hoping for the cinderella story of one team avenging their loss from 5 years ago to the very team that they lost to? Go Mavs!!! We'll be cheering for you til the very end!

hahahaha! I love that you guys didn't even realize that there was sauce all over the place 'til later. I too, am rooting for the mavs...almost as hard as my brother.

I love my Mavericks but I think that I have an almost equal amount of hate for the Heat. I just really dislike the idea of stacking a team and guaranteeing "not 4, not 5, not 6" championships like they did. It's just not right...Dirk on the other hand has gotten back to this point the old fashion way, by getting better and grittier. Go Mav's!!
